At New Visions Tinting, our commitment to quality doesn’t end when you leave the shop. Because we use premium XPEL PRIME™ window films and precision blade-free installation, your tint is designed to last a lifetime. However, proper initial care is essential for the film to bond perfectly to your glass.
Window tint is a “wet-apply” product. During the installation, a specialized solution is used to position the film. It takes time for this moisture to evaporate and for the adhesive to create a permanent bond.
Do Not Roll Down Your Windows: Keep your windows rolled up for at least 3 to 5 days. Rolling them down too early can catch the edges and cause the film to peel or shift.
The “Haze” is Normal: You may notice a slight “milky” haze or small water pockets (bubbles) immediately after installation. Do not poke or push on them. This is a normal part of the curing process and will disappear naturally as the moisture evaporates.
Missouri Weather Factor: In Farmington, humidity and temperature can affect curing times. In cooler or rainy months, it may take slightly longer for the film to reach total clarity.
Once your film has fully cured (typically after 30 days), you can begin cleaning your windows. To maintain the optical clarity and protect the scratch-resistant coating, follow these rules:
Ammonia-Free Only: Never use cleaners containing ammonia (like original Blue Windex). Ammonia will eventually break down the adhesive and cause the film to discolor.
Use Microfiber: Use a clean, soft microfiber cloth. Avoid paper towels, newspapers, or abrasive sponges, which can create micro-scratches over time.
Cool Glass: For the best results, clean your windows when the glass is cool and out of direct sunlight to avoid streaking.
Seatbelt Awareness: Be careful when unbuckling. Letting the metal seatbelt buckle “snap” back against the window is the #1 cause of small nicks or chips in window film.
Interior Chemicals: Avoid getting dashboard cleaners or heavy oils on the film surface.

Official US Window Tint Laws (IWFA): The International Window Film Association provides an interactive map to help you understand the legal VLT (Visible Light Transmission) limits. In Missouri, the legal limit for front-side windows is generally 35%.
